Reindeer Facts in Seesaw!

I loved working with kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders at Orchard today to learn facts about reindeer and share what they learned using Seesaw! To make our adorable reindeer, we used directed drawing directions that I found on the blog Happy Kids, Busy Mom. You can print the directions HERE. Instead of drawing on paper, we used the Drawing tool in Seesaw to complete these projects, then add sentences and our voice.
We began by using Mrs. Jump's All About Reindeer unit, reading facts from the short nonfiction story. Many of the classes recorded these facts on their whiteboard or on chart paper to reference later. You can use any resource you have to learn facts about reindeer.
We then used the directed drawing directions described above and the Drawing tool in Seesaw to step by step draw the reindeer.

Once the drawings were complete, students added either a title or sentences (depending on grade level and ability level), then used the microphone tool to tell facts that they learned. This was a simple, fun activity that allowed students to learn facts and share what they learned in an engaging way!

In Mrs. Tieszen's 1st grade, we used the app Doodle Buddy to create our reindeer, then saved to our camera roll and uploaded to ChatterPix to make the reindeer talk and tell facts. They really enjoyed adding fun Christmas-y stickers (I always give them a number limit on stickers or they'll cover the whole screen) to their creations, then uploading to Seesaw.
