Making Our Sugar Cone Christmas Trees

Thank you to everyone who provided supplies for our trees.  The kids loved making them!

Thank you, Santa, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to visit us today!

Thank You!

Thanks to those of you who were able to attend our Music Program today!  Videos and pictures will be posted soon.  :)

I apologize for any confusion over early check-out of students; I was under the impression that we would not be able to check any students out until our normal dismissal time.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this busy time.

Remember tomorrow is "Jammy Day" in our class - students can wear weather-appropriate pajamas to school.  :) They still need proper shoes, coats, hats, gloves, etc. We will also be decorating sugar cone Christmas trees - if you have any little candies, cereal, mini marshmallows, etc that we could decorate our trees with, please send them in!  Remember no nuts or candies with peanut butter.  Thank you.

Grinch Math Game

The kindergartners will be bringing home a baggie with Grinch math game pieces.  This is a great game you could play over break.  Have them draw a number card, then count out that many Max counters.  (i.e. if they draw the number "5", they should count out 5 Maxes).  Have fun!

Winter Program

Our Winter Program will be held tomorrow at 8:40, 10:00 and 1:00.  Please plan to attend only one performance so we have room for everyone.  Thank you!  You will be asked to sign in when you come, and we will not be able to release students early, they will be dismissed at normal dismissal time (2:30).  If you have any questions, please email piltzt@billingsschools.org or call 281.6356.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you, Makenna

Sweet little cookie made for me by Miss Makenna and her family.  :)

Great Educational Christmas Games, Songs and Apps

The blog Technology Rocks.  Seriously.  has some very fun educational games, songs and apps related to Christmas.  One of our favorites is Santa's Official Reindeer Cam, which gives a live feed of Santa's reindeer.  Check the site to get your child's name on the "nice" list and see when Santa comes out to feed the reindeer!

Friday Jammy Day

On Friday, December 21st we will have a fun day in kindergarten before our Winter Break.  Students are invited to wear their jammies to school (must be weather- and school-appropriate) to enjoy the Dr. Seuss cartoon "The Grinch" and read stories together.  We will also have a visit from Santa in the morning.  We will still go to recess so send appropriate coats, hats, gloves, shoes, etc.  Thank you!

Sugar Cone Christmas Trees & Other Holiday Items

On Friday, December 21st, we will be decorating sugar cone Christmas trees in class.  If you can provide any supplies, it would be greatly appreciated.  We already have green frosting, star gummies and M&Ms.  We need:
1) 19 sugar cones
2) other candies or items to decorate the trees with
Thank you!

Wednesday, December 19th will be "Grinch Day" in our room.  If anyone would like to contribute a fun "Grinch" (green) snack, it would help make our day extra fun.

And finally, I have purchased books to give each of the kids for Christmas and Santa will be handing them out when he visits our room on Friday.  If anyone would be willing to wrap the gifts and return them by Thursday the 20th, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please let me know if you are willing.  Thank you!  :)  Have a great weekend!

Student of the Month

Congratulations!

Thank you to United Way and First Interstate Bank!

A big thank you to United Way and First Interstate Bank, who visited our room today and read Froggy Gets Dressed, then presented each child with their own copy.  As you can see, the kindergartners are already enjoying their new books!

Happenings Next Week

Next week should be a fun and busy week at Beartooth.  :)  On Tuesday the 18th we are practicing for our music program in the afternoon.  On Wednesday the 19th we will have "Grinch Day" with lots of fun math, reading and writing projects around the Dr. Seuss story.  If anyone would want to provide a "Grinchy" snack, it would help make the day even more fun!

Thursday the 20th is our Winter Program.  We will perform at 8:40, 10:00 and 1:00 and you are asked to choose only one performance so we have enough seating.

On Friday the 21st Santa will be visiting our class in the morning.  He will read "The Night Before Christmas" and hand out books to all of the kindergartners.  In the afternoon, we will be decorating sugar cone Christmas trees.  We will need 19 sugar cones, green frosting and various items to decorate the trees with.  Please let me know if you can provide any of these items.

Thank you for your help and support!  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Mrs. Piltz
