Back to School!

Just like the Pink Ladies and the T-Birds, it's time to go back, back to school again!  (Woah, woah!)
(If you've never seen Grease 2 and you have no idea what I'm talking about, please stop reading this and visit Netflix immediately.  Cool Rider will change your life.)

So ... one of my favorite places for back to school inspiration is ... Twitter! Followed closely by Instagram. Social media has opened up a whole new world for teachers to collaborate, connect and share ideas.  I noticed the hashtag #bestyearever on Twitter, and clicked on it to find a ton of great back to school ideas.  Here are a few of my favorites.

iPad All About Me Activity using the app PicCollage FREE
I really love this fun "I am" poem idea, using the free app Pic Collage for Kids.  I used this idea in some of my Summer Symposium trainings last June, and it was a hit!  This would be a fun way to get to know your students.  Once they are finished, it would be fun to print the collages and hang in your classroom.  And, of course, you can always post onto Seesaw! Download the activity plans HERE from Teachers Pay Teachers (FREE).
All About Me Freebie
This freebie packet from StudentSavvy can be found HERE in her Teachers Pay Teachers store.  It offers several different templates for students to share about themselves or their summers by decorating "iPads" or writing on a selfie template.  What a fun way to learn more about your students and have them share with each other!

I love this fun idea from Miss DeCarbo for making "magic dough".  I think students would really love this fun, hands-on activity.  If you buy her full back to school unit (It's $8.00 but looks like there's a TON of good stuff in it), she also includes a magic dough lab report.  What a great way to begin introducing STEM concepts - have students record the results of their magic dough in a lab report or into Seesaw learning journals!
Back to School Freebie I have who has Game
A FREE back to school version of the fun "I Have, Who Has..." game.  Download it HERE from Teachers Pay Teachers.  This is a great ice breaker activity, and a fun way for students to get to know one another.
Getting To Know Your Rock Star Students
Getting to Know Your Rock Star Students ... I really like the fun Instagram-like "Instasummer" writing page included here.  I think students would really love this!  Download it HERE from Teachers Pay Teachers.

Do you have some fun back to school activities that are always a hit?  Or something new you tried this year that was awesome?  Please share in the comments below!  Happy back to school!
