Extract Pages from a PDF to Share with Your Students
I just figured out how to use a tool called Sejda PDF to extract pages from a PDF and share out just those pages with my students. This is cool if you have something from Teachers Pay Teachers - I'm thinking about Deanna Jump's awesome units - that have stories in them, and you just want to share the story (not the whole unit) with your students. Connect Sejda PDF to your Google Drive, or go directly to their website and upload the PDF, then you can extract just the pages you want.

Scribble Press FAQs!
I shared about the app ScribblePress Deluxe at the Tech Fair on Monday, and I am excited that so many of you are excited about using this app in your classrooms! Our tech department purchased some free licenses of this app, so if any BPS teachers would like it installed on your iPads, please submit a Help Ticket and ask Deana Elder to send it to your iPads. (It's usually $4.99, so this is a great deal!)
As I am using this app in classrooms, I have noticed a couple of things:

Another Awesome Post from Kristi Meeuwse, ADE - Digital Reading Resources
I absolutely love iTeachwithiPads.net, written by Kristi Meeuwse. She is a kindergarten teacher in a 1:1 iPad classroom, and an Apple Distinguished Educator. She has so many wonderful ways of using iPads in her classroom to enhance student learning, and create a student-centered classroom where true personalized learning occurs. I encourage you to take the time to read through her posts.
Her latest post features resources for digital reading, which is a question I am asked often. Mrs. Meeuwse provides her students with an amazing collection of reading materials, both digitally andi n traditional print. I really love her idea of adding an icon on the homescreen of your iPad to allow kids to quickly access digital books through the site Unite for Literacy.
Adding an icon to your homescreen is so easy! This will allow students to quickly access websites that you use often, like Moby Max or Xtra Math. Pull up the site using Safari, then click the sharing icon.
Once the options open, select "Add to home screen" and then select "Add". (You can adjust the name of the item, if you need to.)

Digitizing Books with Adobe Voice
I tried my first digital book today using the free app Adobe Voice. This worked great, I just need to work on my photo taking (I think next time I will use a JuStand) and timing (so the photos have time to zoom out after I read the page and the kids can see the words). Otherwise, this app worked really easily for digitizing a favorite classroom story that could be shown to students whole group, or read during center time.
I also created a QR code for the book, so students could scan from a device to hear the story read to them. If you'd like help creating your own digital books, let me know! tracipiltz.youcanbook.me
