Khan Academy Kids app

One of my absolute FAVORITE learning apps for PreK-2nd grade is Khan Academy Kids. Khan Kids is FREE and provides engaging practice for students in math and reading. Students have access to a library of books, as well as fun learning videos. Students can follow an adaptable learning path, or you can assign specific lessons to them. You can learn all about it here

Khan Academy Kids - Apps on Google Play

One of the best tools in Khan Kids is the Create tool, which is like the Draw & Tell app embedded right into Khan Kids.

Students can use the create tool to add stickers, drawing and voice to a project. Some of my favorite ways to use it are building number stories, addition or subtraction stories, illustrating a book/story, and practicing writing names and sight words. The create tool just got even better with the addition of an export button that allows students to easily save their creations to the camera roll of their device, then upload to another place like Seesaw to share.

The video below shows how to use the export tool to save students' creations and upload to Seesaw.

Khan Kids is available as an iOS app and in the Google Play store.
