Breakout Edu with 1st Graders!

If you haven't heard of Breakout Edu, you should check it out! Ann has caught the Breakout bug and has been sharing this super engaging and exciting learning experience with many teachers and kids throughout the district. Kristie Martin and I decided we wanted to try to do the same thing with primary kiddos!

We made a Breakout Edu in which students had to solve clues to rescue the Gruffalo from the story The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. Students used QR codes, Seesaw, Google Drawings, Google Forms, and some rebuses to solve clues, write down code words and find the keys that would allow the Gruffalo to escape from the box he was trapped in! We had a super fun time, and a huge thank you to Mrs. Risser for letting us try this in her classroom ... on Halloween!

If this is something you're interested in, let me know and we can work together to plan for your classroom!

  1. Hi, are you sharing with others? I have a 1st grade teacher here in St.Louis wanting to do one but it's hard finding them for primary.

I found this one that a teacher shared on her blog > https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B5daU9JrGKyBb2Y0Wm5LSTJLRGc
