Lead 21 Books

Our district's language arts curriculum, Lead 21, offers many wonderful stories for students to read.  Some we read together, and some we read in small groups.  All books that we read in small groups coincide with the unit and theme question we are studying.  Following the example of my friend Mrs. Niemeyer, I put all of the books for the unit we are studying into a Symbaloo mix, so that your child could access and read each story (and not just the stories we are reading in his or her small group).  As you read with your child, talk to him about connections he makes with our theme question and the Big Books we read together!
