100 Year Old Portraits
The kids made these cute 100 year old portraits. Here are a couple of examples. (Ideas from Mrs. Jump's blog.)
100th Day!
So far, 100th Day is off to a great start! The kids made 100th Day Capes (an awesome idea from Mrs. Miner's kindergarten) and we counted to 100 using Harry's Kindergarten Counting Superheroes song!
We also planned out how to make 10 groups of 10 toppings on our "hundredth day pizza"! The kids are making some yummy looking paper toppings. :)
The kindergartners enjoyed this video about Counting to 100 by JoJo's Circus.
We also played "Guess My Number" using the Counting Board app on our iPads.

Football Day!
The kids had a fun time on Football Day! All of our activities were football-themed, and we had yummy football donuts from Makayla and football cupcakes from Tailyn. Seth and Jace, two RMC football players, came to our room to talk about how to work and play hard. Then, they played catch out on the playground with the kids. We graphed our Super Bowl predictions and made a cute quarterback art project. :)
Making 10
After practicing making 10, we completed a worksheet and then filled in "how many more do you need to make 10?" on the 10 Frame Fill app. The kids are doing a great job with this hard concept!

Carnival Tonight!
Don't forget the Winter Carnival is tonight, 6:00-8:00pm. A super fun time and great way to help Beartooth teachers earn money for their classes. Thank you, PTA and Becky Middendorf, for all of your hard work on this fun event. And a HUGE thank you to Miss Heather for all of her hard work putting together our Cosmic Bowling booth! Tickets are 5/$1 after school and 4/$1 at the carnival.

Reading Royalty
We will begin awarding a Reading King and Reading Queen each week, based on how many minutes they read at home using Raz-Kids. The kids will need to logon and read from home. I receive a report each Monday, and from that report I will determine who that week's Reading Royalty will be! I will also give points to anyone who reads from home using Raz-Kids! If you need help remembering how to login, let me know!
How to Wake a Groundhog?
The kindergartners had some great ideas for waking up a groundhog! We used the writing paper from The First Grade Parade's blog, then illustrated using Draw & Tell and posted to our Kidblog. Check out Kidblog to see more!
