First Day
Tweet
We had a great first day together! The kids are tired and are going to be for the next several weeks. It will get better, I promise!
We spent a lot of time discussing class rules and procedures. We read a story about a monster who came to school, and how he learned to be a good listener and good friend. We also read Pete the Cat, I'm Rockin' in My School Shoes by Eric Litwin and decided that we are rockin' in our school shoes, just like Pete!
You can check out some Tweets about our first day here. Some important papers are in your child's backpack today. Please complete and return as soon as possible. Call or email with any questions. Have a great night!

1:1 iPad Classroom
Tweet
I am ecstatic to share a 1:1 iPad classroom with the kindergartners this year. Through a 21st Century Classroom Grant from the Education Foundation, I was able to purchase iPad minis for each of my students to use in the classroom. We will use these daily, and the learning opportunities they will provide are invaluable. If you have questions about how the iPads will be used, please ask, or spend time looking through blog archives at last year's students' learning. There is also a wonderful video from Mrs. Niemeyer's 1st grade classroom at Eagle Cliffs Elementary that illustrates the benefits of a "connected classroom". You can view that video here.
