Pack the Place in Pink & Red Ribbon Week

So many students supported Pack the Place in Pink and Red Ribbon Week by wearing pink today.  They looked great!

Monster Goo 5 Senses

After touching, smelling, looking at and listening to the monster goo, students created a poster describing what they experienced.  Tomorrow they will explore a new kind of "monster slime", and will compare and contrast the two substances.

Monster ABCs and 123s

This week in kindergarten we are studying monsters.  The students made monsters and "fed them" words that began with Bb, Mm and Hh.  In our new center the kindergartners sort numbers and letters and "feed them" to the monsters.

Hand Print Pumpkins

The kindergartners made these adorable handprint pumpkins last week.  They rolled a die and added enough pumpkin seeds to match the number rolled.

Student of the Month

Our Student of the Month will eat McDonald's lunch with Mrs. McCall on Tuesday the 30th.  Our Student of the Month is a good listener, a good friend to others and always tries his best.  Great job!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Parents, we made pumpkin pancakes in class today and the kindergartners loved them.  After eating the pancakes, we talked about how they tasted and smelled, and compared them to "regular" pancakes.  The kids did a great job of using descriptive words.

Click the image above for a printable copy of the recipe.  You can read this with your child, and have them find words we know.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 31st and Thursday, November 1st.  A form with your child's conference time was sent home last week. Please review it and return it as soon as possible.  Please remember there is a limited number of time slots available, particularly for evening conferences.  If you can make arrangements to attend during your designated time, it is appreciated.

Thank you!  We look forward to visiting with you all.

Just a reminder that Wednesday, October 17th is an early out day.  Students will dismiss at noon.  There is no school on Thursday the 18th or Friday the 19th due to the state Teacher Convention.

The kindergartners really love this story by Erica Silverman.  Click the picture above for a link to an audio reading of the story.
