Crawford the Cat 100 Words Word Search Game

I just found a really cool Word Search on the Crawford the Cat website that lets kids search for sight words.  There are 100 words in different puzzles in this free online game.  Check it out this summer!

Very Hungry Caterpillar play

The kindergarteners did a wonderful job at their Very Hungry Caterpillar play on Friday.  A huge thank you to Mrs. Wheeler and Mrs Middendorf for making these awesome caterpillar cupcakes.  Also, a big thanks to Mrs. Kimball for the adorable butterfly pretzels.  Thank you to all of the parents who came to support your kids.  You are appreciated!

Fall Plans

We are making placement decisions for next fall.  If you are not planning on returning to Beartooth in the fall because you are moving, or for any other reason, please let us know.  This will help us plan accordingly.  Thank you!

Shape Songs

The kids reminded me today that I promised to record their Shape Songs and put them on our blog.  :)  So ... here they are!

Very Hungry Caterpillar play

At 1:15 on Friday, May 25th, we will have a small program in our room.  The students will be performing "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.  We have watched caterpillars turn into butterflies, and have studied their life cycle and learned about metamorphosis.  This play is a fun culmination of our study about caterpillars and butterflies.  We hope you can join us!

Pastries for Parents

Thanks to everyone who came to Pastries for Parents this morning.  This event is sponsored by the PTA, and is something we look forward to every year.  It was nice to see so many of you there!  Have a great weekend!

Field Day

It was wet and soggy, but the kids had a wonderful time during Field Day today.  Thanks to Mr. Pfeifle for planning a great day and the 6th graders for helping!

Field Day

Field day is this Friday, May 18th.  Our PE teacher, Mr. Pfeifle, has some fun outdoor activities planned.  Students will go through stations with their 3rd grade buddies.  Please be sure your kindergartner is dressed appropriately, and bring a water bottle if you would like.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the Teacher Appreciation gift that was presented to me this morning.  I love the candy jar and the gift card.  It is a pleasure to work with your delightful children, and to get to know all of you!

Zoo

Thank you to everyone who helped chaperone the zoo field trip on Thursday.  We had a great time and couldn't have done it without you.

We're going to the zoo tomorrow!

The kindergarteners are excited to visit the zoo tomorrow.  Please remember to dress them appropriately for the weather, with good footwear for walking.  If you want to send a water bottle that is great.  They will need to carry it, though.  If you indicated that you would pack your child's lunch for them, please remember to send it with them.  If you ordered a sack lunch from the school, lunch will be taken care of.

No one will be allowed to purchase anything in the gift shop, so please do not send any money with your child for this purpose.  If you would like to send a camera with them, you are welcome to.  However, they will be responsible for caring for it.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Thank you!

P.S. There has been some confusion over the calendar for tomorrow.  On a previous calendar, May 3rd was indicated to be an early out day.  This was a mistake and the newest version of the calendar is correct.  Thursday, May 3rd is NOT and early out day.  Sorry for any confusion!
